READING, MASSACHUSETTS - The old Addison Wesley Publishing building along Route 128 in Reading was brought down by a controlled implosion Saturday morning.
According to officials with the demolition company, it took about 200 pounds of explosives to bring down the six-story structure within seconds.
“It’s always good to have these things go right and this one went perfectly,” said Todd Guerette of S & R Demolition.
Police stopped traffic along Route 128 immediately before the blast at 9 a.m. The all-clear was sounded a few minutes later.
